The main aim behind reinforcing the Youth Guarantee is to increase employment support for youths. It looks to make sure that people get the skills and the training and the education they need to adapt to this rapidly changing world.
The Youth Guarantee now applies to all youths under 30 years of age and it seeks to ensure that they receive a good-quality offer of employment, continued education, an apprenticeship or a traineeship within a period of four months of becoming unemployed or leaving formal education.
The European Commission published a Communication outlining the revised Youth Guarantee, as well as a Proposal for a Council Recommendation on July 1, 2020.
