MEUSAC’s annual report for 2017 was presented to Minister for European Affairs and Equality Helena Dalli, Parliamentary Secretary for European Funds and Social Dialogue and to Core Group members during the meeting held on May 25, 2018.
The Core Group met to discuss the Commission’s proposals tied to the 2020-2027 funding period. MEUSAC’s European Social Fund (ESF) funded project Engage – aimed at strengthening social dialogue in Malta – was also launched.
Dr Dalli and Dr Farrugia lauded MEUSAC’s work of connecting citizens to the EU following the publication of this week’s Eurobarometer positive results. A staggering 93% of respondents in Malta said that the EU was is beneficial for Malta while the majority said that the EU is a good thing for Malta.
Dr Dalli said that MEUSAC was chosen as the focal point to organise a series of Citizens’ Consultations following President Emmanuel Macro’s proposal for an EU-wide consultation process which will see 27 Member States participate.
