June 5 is World Environment Day.
The European Commission has recently showed its commitment towards protecting life on Earth through the new Biodiversity Strategy which was launched in May.
The ambitious strategy aims to put Europe’s path to recovery by 2030 with benefits of a horizontal nature for people, the climate and the planet. The strategy also outlines Europe’s contributions to upcoming negotiations on the global post-2020 biodiversity framework.
The European Commission is adamant to move forward post-COVID and wants to re-build societies’ resilience to future threats such as climate change, food insecurities and disease outbreaks such as the COVID-19 pandemic, all whilst protecting wildlife and fighting illegal wildlife trade.« Back
