European Commission President, von der Leyen speaks out against racism

On June 17, Commission President von der Leyen, addressed the European Parliament and gave a statement on the anti-racism protests following the death of George Floyd.

Noting that the European Union’s motto is, “United in Diversity”, President von der Leyen explained that it is everyone’s responsibility to live up to this motto and fulfil its meaning.

In her address, President von der Leyen encouraged everyone to condemn racism and to speak up and act immediately if they encounter it.
