European Commission pledges €300 million to Vaccine Alliance

On June 4, the European Commission has pledged €300 million to Gavi, Vaccine Alliance, for the period 2021-2025.

This funding will help immunise 300 million children worldwide and finance vaccine stockpiles to shield against outbreaks of infectious diseases.

Previously, at the Coronavirus Global Response pledging event which the European Commission co-hosted on May 4, more than €1.5 billion was pledged for the Vaccine Alliance, including €488 million for deploying, once available, a vaccine against COVID-19.
