Building a healthy and sustainable food system

On May 20, the European Commission adopted two strategies, the ‘Biodiversity’ and ‘Farm to Fork’ Strategies. Both strategies go hand-in-hand as they both bring together nature, farmers, business and consumers.

Both strategies aim to stop biodiversity losses in Europe and re-model current ‘unsustainable’ food systems.

COVID-19 has demonstrated how vulnerable biodiversity losses make us and how important well-functioning food systems are for humanity.

Both strategies aim to establish the European Union as a leader on the international scene both on the protection of biodiversity and on building a sustainable food chain.
