Name of project: Sound Bridges
Beneficiary: The Gozo Youth Wind Band and Orchestra
Budget allocated: €31,916
The project aimed to utilise music as a non-formal method of learning to raise the employability skills of youngsters as well as to contribute towards their overall development. More specifically this project sought to achieve the following objectives:
- raise participants’ competitiveness in the industry through the promotion and development of artistic skills
- boost youngsters’ employability through the promotion of their musical roots as a starting point for their professional development and active participation in society
- foster an intercultural experience and opportunity that highlights cultural differences and similarities boosting young musicians’ experience and self-confidence.
The above objectives were addressed through a programme of activities, consisting of musical performances, team-building activities, discussion fora as well as cultural visits, promoting further the intercultural aspect of the participating organisations and respective member states. The activities proposed constituted a range of socially inclusive activities that contribute to the personal development as well as the employability of youths, through a special focus on entrepreneurial soft/transversal skills.
