Frame Football Malta (FFM) garners EU funds for youth exchange through MEUSAC’s assistance

Frame Football Malta garnered EU funds to implement a youth exchange project for the first time since its inception. Through the project entitled ‘Diverse’, a group of Frame Football Malta players with a disability, along with a group of players without a disability from Santa Venera Youth Football Nursery, will be leading an exchange programme in Italy with a similar group of youth from Bologna.

Testimonial:
Our journey started from an Erasmus+ information session held by MEUSAC at their premises in Valletta on June 27 during which we introduced our organisation and expressed our intention to organise a youth exchange for Maltese youth football players with a disability in a bid to share an experience with a similar group from another EU Member State. MEUSAC gave us valuable information about the services it offers.

Together with the EU funding team at MEUSAC, we developed our youth exchange project which we felt satisfies our organisational objectives: a programme that supports education, training, youth and sport.

Along the way until the final submission deadline, constant assistance and support were offered provided via meetings, telephone/mobile calls and e-mails with the funding team who were always available and open to any queries and difficulties from our end.

Considering that our organisation is at its birth, we had no idea of how to implement our youth frame footballers’ dream and were it not for the constant support, encouragement and guidance provided with great professionalism all the MEUSAC staff involved, this dream would have never materialised.

Now that the contract has been signed, we are very eager to implement the project involving 46 participants from both countries. Our youth from Malta will be visiting Bologna, Italy in April 2019 as a result.

While we look forward and fully hope that this will prove to be a memorable and unforgettable experience for our youth, being the first of its kind for youth with a disability football players, we will strongly recommend MEUSAC’s services to other organisations and will definitely plan to work with them again in future for projects we have in the pipeline. Our organisation promotes inclusion through sports and education, so we envisage that this youth exchange Erasmus+ programme will enhance inclusive football in our country and beyond.

We would like to thank MEUSAC for the indispensable and constant assistance and support given by its staff” ~ Rita Darmanin Carbonaro, Founder, Frame Football Malta Team.
