Interreg Europe


The Interreg Europe Programme covers the whole territory of the European Union, Norway and Switzerland. The aim of this funding programme is to help European regions in the drafting and implementation of regional policies. In this regard, the Programme addresses four thematic objectives:

·         Strengthening research, technological development and innovation;

·         Enhancing the competitiveness of SMEs;

·         Supporting the shift towards a low carbon economy in all sectors; and

·         Protecting the environment and promoting resource efficience.

 

The Managing Authority responsible for the implementation of the MED Programme in Malta is the Funds and Programmes Division (FPD).

This call for proposals focuses on interregional cooperation projects i.e. ‘classic’ interregional cooperation projects. Project applications may be prepared under one of the specific objectives listed below:

a. Strengthening research, technological development and innovation;
b. Enhancing the competitiveness of SMEs;
c. Supporting the shift towards a low carbon economy in all sectors and
d.  Protecting the environment and promoting resource efficiency.

Public authorities and bodies governed by public law may receive 85% co-financing. The participation of Maltese entities in this call is kindly being solicited.
