The Directorate-General (DG) for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs is the European Commission service responsible for:

1. completing the Internal Market for goods and services;

2. helping turn the EU into a smart, sustainable, and inclusive economy by implementing the industrial and sectorial policies of the flagship Europe 2020 initiative;

3. fostering entrepreneurship and growth by reducing the administrative burden on small businesses; facilitating access to funding for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs); and supporting access to global markets for EU companies. All of these actions are encapsulated in the Small Business Act;

4. generating policy on the protection and enforcement of industrial property rights, coordinating the EU position and negotiations in the international intellectual property rights (IPR) system, and assisting innovators on how to effectively use IP rights;

5. delivering the EU's space policy via the two large-scale programmes Copernicus (European Earth observation satellite system) and Galileo (European global navigation satellite system), as well research actions to spur technological innovation and economic growth.

Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs Global - Pilot project

This call for proposals concerns the implementation of a pilot project initiated by the European Parliament on the geographical extension of the current "Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs" (EYE) programme. It aims to further foster cross-border transfer of knowledge and experience, entrepreneurial culture and entrepreneurship.

The overall objective of the call is to support new or aspiring European entrepreneurs in the crucial phase of establishing, running and growing their business by working together with an experienced entrepreneur from a country outside the European Union.  More specifically, the USA (max. 2 U. S. states), Israel and one third country in Asia selected from Singapore, Taiwan and South Korea.
New entrepreneurs should be able to develop their entrepreneurial skills, international outlook and competitiveness.

The purpose of this call is to select one organisation/consortium which will recruit host entrepreneurs from the USA (max. 2 U.S. states), Israel and a third country in Asia and manage their successful exchanges with at least 120 new entrepreneurs from the European Union.

Copernicus Hackathon Programme

The purpose of this call is to select a single organisation which will coordinate the programme on behalf of the Commission. The coordinator of the programme should support entities wanting to organise a Copernicus Hackathon.

The maximum budget allocated for EU financing under this call is €1,200,000 including:

-€800 000 to be allocated to the organisers of 20 hackathons every year for two years (maximum €20 000 per hackathon) for a maximum budget of €800 000

-€400 000 for the coordination of the Copernicus Hackathon Programme, including logistical support to the organisers of hackathons

Maximum EU financing rate of eligible costs:

-85% for the organisation of hackathons
-85% for the coordination of the Copernicus Hackathon Programme
