Sixteen new projects co-financed by European Social Fund

Total value of €15m to strengthen public administration, social dialogue


Parliamentary Secretary for European Funds and Social Dialogue Aaron Farrugia said that the European Social Fund programme in Malta earmarked an overall EU allocation of €11 million for these priority areas. “This investment will strengthen the role and the capacity of the public administration, with a view of improving the efficiency of the public service delivery through improved leadership and better utilisation of public resources as well as simplification and better regulation as well as supporting capacity building for NGOs and social partners,” Dr Farrugia added.


The 16 projects which were announced will be implemented under priority areas, and have a total value of €15 million, out of which €11 million are from the European Social Fund. “Through these sixteen projects, training will be given to over 4,500 working in public administration, with NGOs or social partners”, noted Parliamentary Secretary Farrugia.
