Erasmus+ is the EU Programme in the fields of education, training, youth and sport for the period 2014-2020. This programme supports three main types of actions which are, learning mobilities, cooperation for innovation and good practices, and support for policy reform.
The Programme funds opportunities for cooperation and mobility with Partner Countries, notably in the fields of higher education and youth. Erasmus provides an opportunity to Europeans coming from different sectors interested in engaging in different forms of education and training to gain understanding and develop personally and professionally in order to contribute to the development of the European society as a whole.
Eligible projects and exchanges can vary widely with the aim of contributing to the enhancement of creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship between organisations, businesses, local and regional authorities and NGOs. This programme also assists master degree students in financing their studies.
Erasmus+ supports activities aiming at developing the European dimension in sport, by promoting cooperation between bodies responsible for sports. The Programme promotes the creation and development of European networks, providing opportunities for cooperation among stakeholders and the exchange and transfer of knowledge and know-how in different areas relating to sport and physical activity.
The Erasmus+ is managed by the European Union Programmes Agency (EUPA) responsible of supporting individuals with funding under various educational programmes provided by the European Commission.
