Partnership Instrument Cooperation with third country nationals

The Partnership Instrument for cooperation with third country nationals (PI) will give priority to supporting external EU policies like trade as well as the external dimension of EU policies on climate change, the environment, energy, transport, employment and social policy and information and communication technologies.


Supported activities will include actions which give priority to implementing an international dimension of the Europe 2020 Strategy though supporting EU bilateral, regional and inter regional cooperation partnership strategies. Other supported actions may include Improving market access and developing trade and the enhancement of widespread understanding and visibility of the EU’s role public diplomacy, education/academic cooperation and outreach activities to promote Union’s values and interests.


Multi-annual indicative programmes will be developed that will set out the Union’s strategic and/or mutual interests and priorities, the specific objectives and expected results. Eligible partners for partnerships are all third countries, regions and territories.
