On March 9, 2017 the Chairperson of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the French National Assembly (the lower house of the French Parliament), Elizabeth Guigou participated in a discussion with MEUSAC staff led by Dr Vanni Xuereb. Mme Guigou is currently in Malta for a meeting of the Board of Governors of the Anna Lindh Foundation. Currently, she is the President of the Foundation which is inter-governmental institution bringing together civil society and citizens across the Mediterranean to build trust and improve mutual understanding.
Topics discussed included the role of MEUSAC in bridging the gap between the EU and civil society and citizens, Brexit, current issues in the EU as well as the future of the EU.
The French Ambassador to Malta, Béatrice le Fraper du Hellen and other members of the Embassy staff also took part in the discussion.
