Consultation Session

The Malta-EU Steering and Action Committee (MEUSAC) and the Ministry for Home Affairs and National Security (MHAS) are organising a consultation session on the transposition of an EU directive relating to the control of the acquisition and possession of weapons.

This consultation session will focus on Directive (EU) 2017/853, which is concerned with the lawful acquisition and possession of firearms. The consultation session shall be followed by a 6-week period for the submission of written feedback in relation to Government proposals for transposition of the Directive.

The Minister for Home Affairs and National Security, Dr Michael Farrugia, will deliver the opening address.

The consultation will be held on Friday, February 9, 2018 at Europe House, 254, St Paul’s Street, Valletta. Registration will open at 9:30am.
