Education, Youth, Culture and Sport

The Education, Youth, Culture and Sport Committee discusses matters related to the development of quality education, the implementation of a vocational training policy, equal opportunities for young people in education and in the labour market and for them to be active citizens, and the preservation of the common cultural heritage. With the entry into force of the Lisbon Treaty in December 2009, the EU acquired a supporting competence in the field of sport and can henceforth promote European sporting issues.
